Do you all like the pretty colors? Well I thought the site could use some spice, we’ll see how long it takes the other barons to figure out my madness. I am working on some pictures so that you can put faces to the Barons. They will most likely appear under the about us parent. Keep your eyes open for a new video post cause we are going interactive.
So this weekend I had a grand ol’ time in the DC area. On Saturday afternoon I went to Mt. Vernon for the third time and I must say Georgy was loaded and had extremely good taste. I mean the man had the largest distillery in the colonies, no wonder he had wooden teeth.
We have had an ongoing joke at our crib about mulled wine…so obviously we want to drink some. Apparently this type of wine was very popular in the colonies and well they had plenty of it at the Mt. Vernon gift shop. If you have a recipe that you think is “da bomb” please let send it to us, otherwise we will be left to our own devices.
Saturday night after an amazing Christmas party thrown by my cousin we went to RFD Chinatown (Regional Food and Drink) in a spur of the moment, lets get college drunk and crazy for old times sake. Didn’t go too well, but I must say I was impressed by RFD’s spectacular draft/bottle selection. This was my second time there and although the atmosphere is kinda manufactured and the lighting is not dim enough, I though the service was excellent. The amount of drafts they have on tap is impressive and I found myself looking at some unknown brewery names, something that hasn’t happened in a very long time.
Did you know that there is a “law” in DC that states that you cannot be served more than one drink at a time?
Well Tony wasn’t allowed to order another beer before his first one was done, and that’s what our waitress told us. Tony being the astute scholar did some research and discovered this.
RFD is owned by the same company that owns Brickskeller in Dupont. They are owned by a company called D.A. I couldn’t find out what it D.A. stood for, but I’m still looking. I have never been to Brickskellers in Dupont, but I will definitely be going soon. It’s one of those places that can wait because its not a true DC landmark, too corporate. So do yourself a favor and go to RFD, they have a lot on tap and tons more in bottles. Saloon on U street is still my number 1, but if I were to have a large gathering of friends, I would definitely go to RFD.
Stay classy DC, until next time.

haahahaha. oh DC, always making up its own shit.
srsly, tho, stuball, this is sadly not unique. people around here ignore traffic laws they don’t want to exist, like slower traffic keep right… and insist laws exist that don’t, like pedestrians have the right of way at all times ever since the beginning of time ans space…
i’ve heard VA has laws against beer+liquor. which is why some places won’t sell you a carbomb. but that may be just all bullshit.
hey, get baron tony on that one too…
